BIOGRAPHY
KC Nugent is an abstract and conceptual artist whose work focuses on the emotional reaction of color and shape, and how that relationship determines the outcome for the piece by the viewer. Through a use of various mediums, the goal of her art is to attempt to reflect the subconscious idea of emotion in a universally understood language.

Work alongside Owner to create the best environment for students by leading them along interactive and appealing projects each class. Class and workshop creation that includes lesson planning, supply lists, and examples or other materials needed for students to follow along or know the basics of projects. Leading events for groups such as Birthday parties or Girl Scout events. Helping with the flow of the business and helping Owner on days when assistance is needed. Set-up classrooms ahead of class time and make sure all supplies are cleaned or cleaned up so the classroom is ready for the next teacher’s class. Working alongside Owner to learn the ins and outs of having & running a small business that centers around the arts and arts programs.

Create classes that will appeal to different groups of students and the wide-range of groups the center wants to appeal to, bringing in students to the program. Class creation by filling out proposals to get approved by Arts Education Manager, which include creating lesson plans, coming up with supply lists for said projects, and creating examples or other supplemental instructional documents. Set-up classrooms ahead of class time and make sure all supplies are cleaned or cleaned up so the classroom is ready for the next teacher’s class.

Created a classroom environment that allowed for fun while keeping a focus on the theme of art. Assisting the children in areas they struggle while also showing demonstrations with guidance that allowed them to learn and grow in their time together. Examples of classes include Studio Classes for different age groups that included a wide range of mediums and subjects, as well as a young adult Canvas Building course that included learning to build, stretch, gesso, and paint the beginnings of an abstract piece.

Provided guidance to visitors about programming, classes, events, shows, etc. Worked with others on shows in the gallery spaces, including hanging of shows, take down, receptions, social media related posts, and even coming up with show ideas. Came up with class ideas that would fit potential instructors, organized and input said classes into the computer program, created class session related social media posts and physical handouts, and created a welcoming space for parents and students.

Provided camp students with additional help. Helped the group stay focused on the project the teacher was demonstrating. Prepped the supplies for daily projects, and cleaned up the classroom after each day. Led kids in daily lunch time, making each kid’s safety a priority all while keeping the group fun and happy.

Responsible for conceptualizing framing ideas and designs, helping customers decide what fits the art/their taste/their budget best, assembling such designs, and printing Giclee prints.
